HARFORD — A 41-year-old man has been arrested on multiple felony charges including predatory sexual assault against children following a sheriff’s office investigation.
David K. Wacht of NY Route 348 in Harford was taken into custody Aug. 2 at 1 p.m., according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Wacht faces three counts of predatory sexual assault against a child, two counts of criminal sexual act in the first degree, two counts of course sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, two counts of sex abuse in the first degree, one count of rape in the first degree and one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.
The sheriff’s office received a report July 30 of sexual abuse allegations that occurred on numerous occasions between 2016 and 2025 at undisclosed locations in Harford.
The investigation revealed that Wacht subjected more than one victim to inappropriate sexual contact during that time period.
The victims were known to Wacht, according to authorities.
After his arrest, Wacht was transported to the Public Safety Building for processing.
He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8 p.m. Aug. 2 and remanded to the Cortland County Jail with no bail.
Wacht’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 6 at 5 p.m. in Harford Town Court.
