AURELIUS — The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Auburn man on a felony charge stemming from a June traffic stop involving a stolen pickup truck.
Kaya J. Frazier, 23, was arrested July 27 at 6:27 p.m. on a warrant charging him with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, Sheriff Brian Schenck said July 31.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop of a pickup truck on Beech Tree Road in Aurelius on June 10 at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The driver was released with traffic tickets at the time, and Frazier was a passenger in the vehicle.
The owners discovered days later that the pickup had been stolen at the time of the traffic stop and had been involved in a motor vehicle collision.
Warrants were obtained for the vehicle’s occupants on possession of stolen property charges.
Frazier was arraigned in CAP Court and released on his own recognizance.
