NORWALK — Police arrested a 24-year-old Stamford woman after serving a search warrant at a smoke shop suspected of selling cannabis products without a license.
The Norwalk Police Department Special Services Division executed the warrant at Smokey Bear, 43 North Main Street, on Aug. 1.
The search was part of an ongoing investigation into smoke shops in Norwalk selling cannabis and cannabis products without proper licensing.
Officers seized THC gummies, pre-wrapped marijuana cigarettes and containers filled with marijuana during the search.
Police also found several bottles of nitrous oxide at the location.
Connecticut law prohibits the sale of products containing more than 0.3% total THC concentration without a state-issued license.
The sale of marijuana is also illegal without proper dispensary licensing.
Cielo Davila, 24, of 14 William Street, Stamford, was arrested on charges of violation of restricted substances, sale of less than one kilogram of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
Davila was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 15.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns consumers against inhaling nitrous oxide products, which can cause serious health problems including death.
