Holyoke police, DEA seize heroin, fentanyl, cocaine in drug trafficking arrest

HOLYOKE — Holyoke Police detectives and Drug Enforcement Administration agents seized trafficking amounts of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine along with nearly $7,000 in cash Friday morning.

Officers executed a search warrant around 6 a.m. at an apartment at 694 Dwight Street following a joint investigation between Holyoke Police and the DEA.

During the search, police recovered approximately 125 grams of heroin and fentanyl, equivalent to about 5,000 bags, and 101 grams of cocaine.

Officers also seized $6,925 in cash.

Adiel Velez, 33, of Holyoke was arrested at the scene.

Velez is charged with trafficking heroin and fentanyl between 100-200 grams and trafficking cocaine between 100-200 grams.
