4 arrested in Highland liquor store robbery after traffic stop

HIGHLAND — Four people were arrested Wednesday night in connection with a liquor store robbery after state police spotted their vehicle while responding to the initial call.

State police were dispatched to a liquor store on Route 9W in Highland at approximately 8:40 p.m. July 30 for a report of a robbery.

While en route, troopers observed the suspect vehicle, a Nissan Murano, traveling west on Route 44/55.

A traffic stop was initiated and four individuals, along with two children, were observed inside the vehicle.

While interviewing the driver, identified as Selena Fonda Bressendorff, 24, of Wallkill, she became combative and physically assaulted the trooper.

Further investigation determined that Bressendorff, along with three other individuals, were at the liquor store on Route 9W when Jennifer A. Robertson, 20, of Wallkill, got in a physical altercation with an employee before leaving the store.

The other suspects were identified as Jahnya Bressendorff, 22, of Wallkill, and an 18-year-old juvenile.

All four individuals were transported to State Police Highland for processing.

Selena Fonda Bressendorff was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault with intent to cause injury to an officer, fourth-degree conspiracy, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, petit larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and uniform traffic tickets.

Jahnya Bressendorff was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree conspiracy, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Robertson was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree conspiracy, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

The 18-year-old juvenile was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree conspiracy, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

All four individuals were arraigned in Ulster County Jail CAP Court on July 31 and remanded to Ulster County Jail.

Both children were transferred to the care of a third party.

State police were assisted on scene by Marlborough Police Department and Lloyd Police Department.
