Dorchester woman arrested in ice cream robbery, found with 9 warrants

BOSTON — A 41-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly robbing a Dorchester pharmacy at knifepoint and fleeing with eight boxes of ice cream.

Officers assigned to District B-3 responded to the CVS Pharmacy at 468 Blue Hill Avenue at approximately 1:30 p.m. following reports of a person armed with a knife inside the store.

Police located a female suspect matching the description who was in possession of eight boxes of ice cream.

The suspect was identified as Omaila Medina of Boston.

The investigation revealed that Medina had allegedly pulled a knife on a store employee before fleeing with the frozen goods.

The ice cream was recovered and returned to the store.

A records check revealed that Medina was wanted on nine outstanding arrest warrants for various offenses.

She was taken into custody without incident.

Medina was arraigned in Dorchester District Court on a charge of armed robbery, in addition to the outstanding warrants.
