Galway woman arrested on assault charges after campground disturbance

GALWAY — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call Monday at 10:16 a.m. at the McConchie Heritage Acres Campground.

Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Brenda M. Cordy, 38, of North Grosvenordale, Connecticut.

Cordy was charged with assault in the 2nd degree, a class D felony, obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor, criminal tampering in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor, and harassment in the 2nd degree, a violation.

Cordy is accused of intentionally preventing a police officer from performing an official function by physical force and of spitting blood and saliva into the faces of two deputies.

She allegedly later bit an emergency room technician at Saratoga Hospital causing physical injury and spit on a nurse.

She was arraigned before the Honorable Constantine F. DeStefano in the Mechanicville City Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in the respective courts.
