Owego police report 173 calls for service, 2 arrests

OWEGO — Owego police responded to 173 calls for service during the week of July 21 through July 27, according to a department press release.

Officers made two arrests during the week.

A 33-year-old Owego woman was taken into custody for a mental health hold after a report that she was a danger to herself and others.

She was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Richard P. Baker, 35, of Waverly, was arrested on an arrest warrant issued by Tioga County Probation.

Baker was turned over to Tioga County Sheriff’s custody for arraignment at Tioga County Centralized Arraignment Court.

Police also responded to two motor vehicle accidents during the week.

Officers issued 16 traffic tickets.
