MINERVA — New York State Police arrested a 16-year-old male from Johnsburg on charges of assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree on July 29.
Troopers responded to a report of a possible stabbing on Beach Road in the town of Minerva at approximately 3:03 a.m.
The investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim had been involved in a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical altercation during which the suspect stabbed the victim in the stomach.
The victim was transported to Glens Falls Hospital and treated for serious physical injuries.
New York State Police Troop G located the 16-year-old suspect, arrested him, and transported him to SP Schroon Lake for processing.
He is being arraigned in Essex County Court.
