MONROE — State Police on patrol were notified of an assault that occurred on Higgins Trail in the town of Monroe on July 29.
A preliminary investigation determined that at approximately 12:08 a.m. July 29, Josue Fabian Huilca Rea, 20, and Jony David Perez Sanchez, 26, both of Monroe, waited at the victim’s residence and physically attacked the victim when they arrived.
Police said the suspects stabbed the victim with a knife outside their home.
Huilca Rea and Perez Sanchez were both transported to SP Monroe for processing.
Huilca Rea was charged with assault 2nd degree, gang assault 2nd degree and menacing 2nd degree.
Perez Sanchez was charged with assault 3rd degree, gang assault 2nd degree and menacing 2nd degree.
The victim was transported from Aizer Health Center to Garnet Health Medical Center by Kiryas Joel EMS for treatment and is in stable condition.
