WARWICK — A 39-year-old Warwick man was arrested Tuesday following an assault that left a Chester man hospitalized with serious injuries.
Dylan Begnoche was taken into custody after police responded to a report of an assault on Crescent Avenue at approximately 4:41 p.m.
The victim, a 38-year-old Chester man, told officers he was choked and stabbed in the chest during an altercation with someone known to him.
The victim was initially treated at St. Anthony Community Hospital before being transferred to Westchester Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers located Begnoche and took him into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Town of Warwick Police Department for processing.
Begnoche was charged with assault in the second degree, a class D felony, and obstruction of breathing, a class A misdemeanor.
He was arraigned and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bond or $250,000 partially secured bond.
The case remains under investigation by the Town of Warwick Police Department Detective Unit.
