SPRING VALLEY — Spring Valley patrol officers responded to a residence on South Madison Avenue at approximately 5:45 a.m. July 26 following reports of a fight in progress.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female victim who reported that a male tenant sexually assaulted her while she was sleeping on a couch with her boyfriend.
Both the victim and her boyfriend woke up during the incident, and the suspect fled the residence.
The victim’s boyfriend pursued the suspect but was unable to apprehend him.
The suspect later returned to the scene, at which time police were contacted and took him into custody.
Police identified the suspect as Klever Roldan Auquilla, 21, of Spring Valley.
Roldan-Auquilla was arrested and charged with rape in the first degree, a Class B felony under New York State Penal Law Section 130.35.
He was arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court by Judge Mellion.
Bail was set at $100,000 cash, $250,000 secured bond, or $500,000 partially secured bond.
Roldan-Auquilla was remanded to Rockland County Jail.
