NEWMARKET — A 39-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a 38-year-old woman found dead in her home during a welfare check.
Stephen Field faces charges of second-degree murder and falsifying physical evidence in the death of Kylie Fritz, according to a news release from Attorney General John M. Formella.
Newmarket police officers responded to a residence on Maple Street at approximately 11:57 p.m. on July 28 for a welfare check.
Upon entering the home, officers discovered Fritz lying on the ground, deceased from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday charging Field with recklessly causing Fritz’s death and falsifying physical evidence.
Field’s arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the 10th Circuit-District Division-Brentwood Court in Brentwood.
An autopsy on Fritz is scheduled to take place Wednesday.
The investigation involves the Attorney General’s Office, New Hampshire State Police and the Newmarket Police Department.
