Plattsburgh man arrested on assault charges after domestic dispute

PLATTSBURGH — New York State Police arrested a 37-year-old man on charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon July 25.

Joshua S. Martin of Plattsburgh was taken into custody following a domestic dispute on Westwood Drive.

Troopers responded to the incident at approximately 9:45 p.m.

The investigation revealed that Martin and the victim had been engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation.

During the confrontation, Martin struck the victim on the head with a crutch.

The victim was transported to CVPH for treatment of a non-life-threatening head injury.

Martin was arrested and taken to SP Plattsburgh for processing.

He was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court and released on his own recognizance.
