Albany, NY man charged with murder in Ontario Street stabbing

ALBANY — A 33-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with a homicide that occurred Saturday evening on Ontario Street near Third Street.

On July 26 around 10:05 p.m., staff from Albany Memorial Hospital notified police that a 23-year-old man entered the emergency room with a stab wound.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from a severe stab wound to his neck.

Despite medical efforts, the victim succumbed to his injury.

The name of the victim will not be released at this time until proper notifications have been made.

Through investigation, members from the Albany police department determined that the victim and the suspect were known to each other and had been involved in a physical altercation.

During the incident, the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife prior to fleeing the scene.

Shortly after, detectives identified Kyle Crayon as the individual responsible for stabbing the victim in the neck and was taken into custody in the area of Ontario Street and Elk Street.

Crayon has been charged with one count of Murder 2nd.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court this morning.
