PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested two men on street racing and reckless driving charges during motor vehicle stops on Union Avenue at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday.
William Fernandez, 23, of 6 Young Lane, Johnston, was charged with reckless driving and street racing, both first offenses.
Marvin Ortiz, 25, of 287 Alabama Avenue, Providence, was arrested on identical charges at the same time.
Both men were transported to the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks where they were processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace before being released.
In a separate incident at 3:48 a.m., troopers arrested Jason Jordan, 36, of 20623 Rodney Street, Georgetown, Delaware, on an arrest warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.
Jordan was located by the South Kingstown Police Department and transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment.
