MALONE — New York State Police arrested a 29-year-old woman July 23 on charges including endangering the welfare of children following a hit-and-run collision earlier this month.
Chelsea Labelle of Malone was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief, making a false written statement, and reckless endangerment in the second degree.
The incident occurred July 6 at approximately 6:58 p.m. when troopers responded to State Route 11 in the town of Bangor regarding a hit-and-run property damage collision.
The investigation revealed that Labelle was traveling west on State Route 11 with her three children in the vehicle.
Operating a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, she intentionally struck a 2003 Ford F-250 driven by Shawn M. Labelle.
While Shawn Labelle stopped his vehicle, Chelsea Labelle continued to drive away.
Further investigation indicated that Chelsea Labelle had provided a false statement regarding the incident, which ultimately led to her arrest.
No one was injured in the collision.
Labelle was processed at State Police Malone and was later arraigned in the Town of Bangor Court, where she was released on her own recognizance.
