Schenectady police respond to shots fired incident on Crane Street

SCHENECTADY — Schenectady Police officers responded to the area of Crane Street and Fourth Avenue for the report of possible shots fired on the morning of July 25 at approximately 10:29 a.m.

Officers located a shell casing on scene and were alerted to a residence on the 800 block of Crane Street where the suspect may be located.

Officers attempted to contact the occupants of the address, and at approximately 12:44 p.m., a male exited then fled on foot.

He was apprehended a short distance away and has been detained and brought to Schenectady Police Department headquarters for questioning.

No arrest has been made at this time.

No one appears to have been injured in the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
