WELLESLEY — Police are searching for an 80-year-old woman who went missing Tuesday afternoon after walking away from a medical building.
Ann Smith was last seen around 5:15 p.m. walking south on Walnut Street toward Cedar Street from the medical building at 65 Walnut St., according to the Wellesley Police Department.
Smith is described as a white female, about 5 feet 3 inches tall with short white hair.
She was wearing a short-sleeve blue shirt, possibly with horizontal stripes, and black pants with small, multi-colored dots.
Police said Smith is thin and was wearing glasses.
Smith does not have a cell phone and police do not believe she is carrying any other items.
She resides in Dedham and is not familiar with the Wellesley area, police said.
A large police presence is searching the area of Walnut Street and Cedar Street.
Police are asking the public not to join the search but to call 911 or the Wellesley Police directly at 781-235-1212 if they see someone matching Smith’s description.
