LONDONDERRY — The Londonderry Police Department responded to the area of 63 Hall Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident on July 24 at approximately 6:36 p.m.
While units were en route, dispatchers received additional 911 calls reporting that two individuals were entrapped.
Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles involved in the crash: a 2022 Honda Civic and a 2009 Ford F-150.
The driver and passenger of the Honda were both entrapped in the vehicle.
Officers immediately provided medical aid and applied a tourniquet to the driver’s leg.
The Londonderry Fire Department arrived shortly after and worked to extricate both occupants from the Honda.
The driver of the Honda was transported by ambulance to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester with serious injuries.
The passenger was transported by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
The operator of the Ford F-150 was out of his vehicle and appeared uninjured.
While speaking with him, officers observed signs of intoxication.
He was evaluated by EMS personnel but refused further treatment.
The operator was identified as Ryan Dooley, 23, of Londonderry.
Based on the on-scene investigation, Dooley was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, reckless operation and driving while intoxicated.
The driver of the Honda remains in critical but stable condition at the Elliot Hospital.
The passenger succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Two additional charges of negligent homicide-DUI and negligent homicide have been added.
The accident remains under investigation by the Londonderry Police Department’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
Preliminary findings indicate that both speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the collision.
Dooley was held on preventative detention pending his arraignment in the Derry District Court on July 25.
