PALMYRA — The Palmyra Police Department arrested a Palmyra man on felony driving while intoxicated charges following a traffic stop at 412 E Main St. on July 12.
At approximately 9:49 p.m., a Palmyra police officer observed a black pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed with a loud, modified exhaust system while following another vehicle too closely on E Main Street.
The officer reported that the pickup nearly rear-ended the car in front before braking abruptly near the intersection of E Main Street and Cuyler Street.
After stopping the vehicle, police determined the driver, Bradley A. Garrow, 26, of Macedon Center Road in Macedon, was operating the truck while intoxicated.
Garrow was arrested for DWI and other traffic infractions.
At the police station, Garrow submitted to a chemical breath test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 0.16%, twice the legal limit.
He was charged with two counts of felony DWI under New York Vehicle and Traffic Law sections 1192(2) and 1192(3), due to a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years.
Garrow also received five vehicle and traffic citations, including following too closely and having a modified exhaust system.
He was processed and turned over to the Wayne County Jail for CAP court at 7 a.m. July 13.
Garrow is due back in Palmyra court.
