Somerville police report multiple shootings, assaults in recent week

SOMERVILLE — Somerville Police responded to Grand Union Boulevard in Assembly Row July 22 at approximately 9:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

Officers spoke with a male party who stated his vehicle was struck by multiple rounds of gunfire.

Numerous shell casings were recovered.

No injuries were reported.

On July 18 at approximately 12:28 a.m., Somerville Police responded to 40 River Road for a report of multiple shots fired and a vehicle fleeing the area.

Officers recovered 34 shell casings consisting of three different calibers.

No injuries were reported in that incident.

Police also responded to a business on Somerville Avenue July 15 at approximately 11:20 p.m. for a breaking and entering.

Officers observed the front window shattered and numerous merchandise products scattered along the street.

On July 16 at approximately 8:04 a.m., police took a report from a male party regarding a past assault.

He stated that around 7:30 a.m., he got involved in a traffic altercation with a bicyclist who brandished a knife at him.

Police responded to Holland Street July 15 at approximately 12:45 p.m. for report of a fight.

Officers spoke with the victim who stated he was approached by a male party who began to yell profanities at him then pushed him.

On July 22 at approximately 8:05 a.m., police responded to a residence on Broadway for report of a past breaking and entering.

Officers spoke with the victim who stated the house is under construction and a refrigerator was stolen.

Police responded to a business in Davis Square July 22 at approximately 9:39 a.m. for a dispute.

Officers spoke with the victim who stated she got into an altercation with a female party who punched her in the face.

Officers identified the suspect.

Police also reported four bike thefts, three motor vehicle vandalisms, eight car breaks and three motor vehicle thefts during the period.
