MALONE — A 38-year-old Malone man has been arrested on a first-degree rape charge involving a child under 11 years old.
Justin Lamica was taken into custody following an investigation that began June 17 when the Malone Village Police Department received a Law Enforcement Child Abuse Referral alleging sexual abuse of a child.
Detective Hesseltine adopted the case from patrol staff and conducted the subsequent investigation.
Lamica was charged with rape in the first degree – sexual contact with person less than eleven years old, a class B felony.
He was arraigned in Malone Town Court and remanded to the custody of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
Police said additional charges may be forthcoming.
