CAROLINE — New York State Police arrested a 21-year-old New Jersey man July 20 on charges of driving while intoxicated and petit larceny.
Ryan A. Morris of Pennsville, N.J., was taken into custody at approximately 5:25 p.m. after a trooper responded to a report of someone on a side-by-side vehicle stealing road signs on 76 Road.
The trooper detected an odor of alcoholic beverage on Morris and administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment.
Morris was transported to State Police Ithaca for processing, where his blood alcohol content measured .17 percent.
He was issued appearance tickets to Caroline Town Court for Aug. 25.
