HICKSVILLE — A Queens man was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a fortune telling scam that allegedly bilked a 68-year-old woman out of thousands of dollars.
Hemanth Kumar Muneppa, 33, of South Richmond Hill, was taken into custody at 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Anjana Ji, located at 414c South Broadway, according to Nassau County police.
The victim initially paid Muneppa $20,000 on July 3 for fortune telling services, detectives said.
On Thursday, the woman was receiving additional fortune telling services when she was instructed to provide another $42,000 for services, police said.

The victim was advised she may be the target of a scam and police were called for assistance.
Officers responded and arrested Muneppa without incident following an investigation.
Muneppa was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, attempted grand larceny in the third degree and two counts of fortune telling.
