2 men stab, rob Springfield man on Northampton bike trail

NORTHAMPTON — A 43-year-old Springfield man was stabbed and robbed by two unknown attackers on a Northampton bike trail Monday morning, police said.

The victim was walking along the bike trail between the Roundhouse Parking Lot and Veteran’s Field near 136 West Street at approximately 11:32 a.m. when he was attacked from behind, according to the Northampton Police Department.

The victim reported being struck in the head and stabbed multiple times in both arms and one leg.

The suspects stole cash from the victim before fleeing on foot.

The victim is receiving medical treatment for his injuries.

The Northampton Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
