MOULTONBOROUGH — A 64-year-old Canadian man drowned Sunday afternoon at Lake Winnipesaukee, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Jason Lin of British Columbia was swimming near Minister Island when he appeared to become exhausted, went underwater and did not resurface, Marine Patrol officers said.
The New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol received a report of a possible drowning just after 1 p.m. July 20.
Marine Patrol officers responded and assisted emergency services with lifesaving efforts after Lin was pulled from the water.
Lin was transported to Concord Hospital-Laconia, where he was pronounced dead.
Marine Patrol officers were assisted by members of the Moultonborough police and fire departments, the Meredith Fire Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
