Pownal woman arrested on burglary charges after breaking into occupied home

POWNAL — State police arrested a 53-year-old woman Saturday after she allegedly burglarized a residence while the victim was inside.

Angela J. Walsh of Pownal was taken into custody at 12:30 p.m. on Jackson Cross Road following reports of an active burglary.

Troopers arriving at the scene found Walsh still at the residence, according to police.

Investigation revealed that Walsh had burglarized the home while victim Joseph Rivera, 54, of Pownal was present inside.

Police said Walsh had removed property belonging to Rivera from the residence.

Walsh was issued a criminal citation to appear before Bennington County Superior Court on July 21 at 12:30 p.m.

She faces charges of burglary into an occupied dwelling, unlawful trespass into an occupied dwelling, unlawful mischief and petit larceny.
