Burdett man charged in $450,000 burglary in Dix

DIX — New York State Police have charged a Burdett man in connection with a burglary that resulted in the theft of firearms and $450,000 worth of valuables.

Jeffrey A. Arcangeli, 59, was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree grand larceny, both felonies.

State Police from the Montour Falls barracks responded March 22, 2023, to a reported burglary at a residence on Meads Hill Road in the town of Dix in Schuyler County.

The investigation revealed that a safe inside the residence had been forcibly opened.

Multiple firearms and an estimated $450,000 worth of gold, silver and U.S. currency were stolen.

Arcangeli was processed and arraigned in Town of Dix Court.

The investigation is ongoing.
