Albany man arrested on drunken driving charges with child in vehicle

ALBANY — State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol stopped a vehicle on Benson Street July 8 at about 9:57 p.m. for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.

The driver was identified as Juan J. Ambrocio Vicente, 50 of Albany, and a child under the age of 16 was located in the vehicle.

Ambrocio Vicente was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

The child was turned over to a family member.

Ambrocio Vicente was transported to SP Latham for processing where he recorded a 0.11% BAC.

He was issued tickets returnable to the Albany City Court on July 25 and released.

In a separate incident July 8 at about 11:00 p.m., State Police of Clifton Park stopped a vehicle on Grooms Road in Halfmoon for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.

The driver was identified as Nicole M Kovalsky, 41 of Stillwater, and a child under the age of 16 was located in the vehicle.

Kovalsky was uncooperative with the investigation but was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

The child was released to a family member.

Kovalsky was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing where she recorded a 0.21% BAC.

She was issued tickets returnable to the Halfmoon Town Court on August 6 and released to a sober third party.

On July 10 at about 10:25 p.m., State Police of Clifton Park attempted to stop a vehicle on State Route 9 in Halfmoon.

The driver failed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated.

After traveling approximately 1 mile the vehicle turned into the Stewarts Shop on Clifton Park Center Road in Clifton Park.

The driver was identified as Jonathan B. Spadaro, 23 of Ballston Lake.

Spadaro was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

Further investigation discovered an illegally possessed bladed weapon in the vehicle, which was seized, and he was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree.

Spadaro was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing where he recorded a 0.18% BAC.

He was issued tickets returnable to the Halfmoon Town Court on July 23 and released.

On July 11 at about 8:01 p.m., State Police of Cobleskill responded to the report of a one car crash off the roadway of Cresent Road in Gilboa.

The driver was identified as Sarah L. Mcardle, 41 of Jewett, and the investigation discovered a child under the age of 16 was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The child was uninjured.

Mcardle was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law) and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

She was transported to Cobleskill for processing where she recorded a 0.09% BAC.

Mcardle was transported to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
