Walton man arrested on warrant for endangering children, menacing charges

WALTON — Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Walton resident on an arrest warrant issued by the Town of Walton Court.

On May 26, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute in the Town of Walton.

Upon conducting interviews, deputies learned that 36-year-old Gerald V. Walke had engaged in a verbal domestic dispute and displayed a knife while in the presence of two juveniles.

On May 29, the Town of Walton Court issued an arrest warrant for Walke.

On July 5, Delaware County Sheriff deputies were contacted by members of the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office, who advised that they had located Walke.

Sheriff deputies took custody of Walke on the arrest warrant, charging him with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of menacing in the second degree, both class A misdemeanors under New York State Penal Law.

Walke was processed and turned over to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await centralized arraignment.
