NORTH HAVEN — A 45-year-old North Haven man has been arrested in connection with a road rage incident that escalated to shots being fired and two people being struck by a vehicle.
Bryan Perrelli was arrested July 16 on charges including assault in the 2nd degree, reckless endangerment in the 1st degree, breach of peace in the 2nd degree, criminal trespass in the 1st degree, reckless driving, and following too closely.
The incident occurred July 5 at 1:15 a.m. in the area of Elm Street and Bailey Road, according to the North Haven Police Department.
Officers responding to reports of a road rage incident that turned into shots fired found one victim on the ground with leg injuries not caused by gunfire.
North Haven detectives conducted a perimeter canvass, obtained surveillance video and conducted several interviews.
The investigation determined that Perrelli was engaged in a road rage incident that continued to the Bailey Road area where a confrontation occurred.
During the incident, Perrelli operated his vehicle in a reckless manner, striking two individuals and causing injury.
Video surveillance showed Perrelli returned to the residence multiple times throughout the incident.
One of the victims’ family members retrieved a registered firearm and fired shots at Perrelli’s vehicle in an attempt to stop him, causing Perrelli to leave the scene.
The investigation led to an arrest warrant for Perrelli.
