ROCKLAND — A Vermont man was arrested on multiple charges after crashing into a police cruiser at the Rockland Police Department on July 16.
Police were notified just before 1 p.m. of an erratic vehicle that was reportedly following a woman around town.
The woman told police she was pulling into the police department parking lot and the vehicle was still following her.
Officers arrived to assist the woman and learned the erratic driver had pulled into the police department lot, struck an unoccupied marked police cruiser, and fled the scene.
Officers located the vehicle and driver and found the operator, 29-year-old Tilford Tillman of Vermont, was under the influence of alcohol.
Tillman was arrested for OUI and additionally charged with refusing to submit to arrest or detention, leaving the scene of an accident and driving to endanger.
