SOUTHBRIDGE — A 47-year-old Southbridge man was arrested Thursday evening after three separate incidents involving a white Audi and female victims, police said.

Brad J. Coughlin of 17 Oak Street was charged with lewdness, open and gross, accost/annoy another person, attempting to commit a crime to wit kidnapping, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

The first incident occurred at approximately 6:54 p.m. July 10 when an officer on an unrelated call in the Fiske Street area was approached by a female who reported that a white male operating a white Audi had exposed himself while committing a lewd act and made inappropriate sexual comments directed at her.

The victim obtained the license plate number of the white Audi, and officers identified the owner as Coughlin.

Police headquarters then received a second call from a female who reported a suspicious white Audi being operated by a white male had approached her and a friend in the area of Eastford Road.

The caller reported she was pulled over talking to another female in a separate vehicle when the white Audi pulled alongside them and the driver asked one of the females to get into his vehicle several times.

Both victims fled the area in separate directions after fearing for their safety.

A third female victim contacted an officer in the area of Old South Road to report she believed she was the victim of a potential kidnapping minutes earlier.

The victim stated the white Audi driver approached her as she was walking, opened the passenger side door and asked her to get in while exposing himself and making inappropriate sexual comments.

When the victim attempted to flee, the driver attempted to block her path with his vehicle before she was able to step around the vehicle and run to a parking lot where her vehicle was parked.

The victim obtained a picture of the license plate and partial picture of the driver’s face.

Sturbridge Police located Coughlin in the area of Westville Dam and took him into custody without incident.

Coughlin was held on cash bail and arraigned in Dudley District Court on Friday.
