NORFOLK — Two people were arrested on drug charges Friday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of cocaine, New York State Police said.
Jacqueline E. Yaddow, 45, of Massena, and John P. Cosores, 59, of Norfolk, were charged at approximately 3:11 p.m. by members of the New York State Police and the Troop B – Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team.
Yaddow was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree-previous conviction, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree-narcotic drug with intent to sell, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree-narcotic drug.
Cosores was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree-narcotic drug with intent to sell and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree-narcotic drugs.
State police observed a blue 2006 Hyundai Accent traveling on State Route 56 in the town of Norfolk in violation of a vehicle and traffic law.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop and interviewed the driver, who was identified as Yaddow.
A Border Patrol agent and K9 Branco conducted a free air sniff, which resulted in a positive alert for narcotics in the vehicle.
A probable cause search revealed drug paraphernalia and narcotics, which was later identified as cocaine.
Yaddow and Cosores were arrested and transported to SP Massena for processing.
Both were arraigned in the Town of Norfolk Court and were later released under the supervision of probation.
New York State Police were assisted by the U.S. Border Patrol.
