MARION — A motorcyclist died Friday afternoon after striking a dump truck on Parker Road in Wayne County.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:05 p.m. when the motorcycle, traveling southbound, struck the dump truck that was stopped in the southbound lane, according to New York State Police.
The motorcycle operator, a 45-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dump truck operator, James A. Suhr, 60, of Marion, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation.
Police administered standard field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test to Suhr, and no signs of impairment were observed.
The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit responded to assist with the investigation.
The Wayne County Coroner also responded to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
