PAINTED POST — A 32-year-old woman was arrested July 9 following a report of a crash and attempted vehicle theft in Thurston, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Alesha M. Hunt of Victory Highway was charged after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Bath and possessing the stolen vehicle in Thurston.
Deputies said the vehicle had neither a valid inspection nor registration and Hunt’s license was suspended or revoked.
Hunt is also accused of following a person in a public place, causing them to fear injury, and acting recklessly in a manner likely to cause injury to that person.
She faces charges of grand larceny in the second degree, a class C felony, and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, a class D felony.
Additional charges include reckless endangerment in the second degree, stalking in the fourth degree, petit larceny, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, unregistered motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle and failure to keep right.
Hunt was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
