AUBURN — Three people were arrested July 9 following a larceny complaint that led to the discovery of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and fentanyl, police said.
The Cayuga County E-911 Center received a larceny complaint at approximately 7:30 p.m. involving the Dollar Tree at 314 Genesee St.
A description of the suspect and suspect vehicle was provided, prompting a be-on-the-lookout alert to area law enforcement.
Auburn Police Department officers located the suspect vehicle near Genesee Street and South Street and conducted a traffic stop.
Officers determined the larceny suspect was Ronald A. Agee Jr., 50, of Syracuse, who had been dropped off at an Auburn residence after the reported theft.
Police were familiar with Agee Jr., who had an active New York State Parole absconder warrant.
Officers responded to the residence and located Agee Jr., who was taken into custody and charged with petit larceny.
State parole officers responded and took custody of Agee Jr. on the outstanding warrant.
Agee Jr. was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending further court proceedings.
During the continued investigation at the traffic stop, officers found Beth L. Geiger, 45, of Auburn, and Antwan L. Smith, 40, of Syracuse, in possession of narcotics.
Police recovered 48.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of crack cocaine and numerous glassine envelopes containing fentanyl.
Officers also found a digital scale and other substances suspected to be cutting agents and packaging used in street-level drug sales.
Geiger and Smith were arrested and transported to the Auburn Police Department.
Both were charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony, and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony.
They also face one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony, and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony.
Geiger was remanded to Cayuga County Jail at the request of the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office due to her current probation status.
Smith was mandatorily remanded to Cayuga County Jail due to the charges and his status as a parolee with five previous felony convictions.
