KEENE — Keene police arrested two people July 9 after a stolen vehicle incident that resulted in a police cruiser being rammed and a foot chase through wooded areas.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 3:32 p.m. to 89 Marlboro St. for a report of suspicious people.
As officers arrived, they observed a silver Toyota Tacoma leaving the area with occupants matching descriptions from the initial call.
Officers followed the vehicle and determined the New Hampshire veteran license plate was stolen.
The truck drove to the dead end of Marlboro St., where officers attempted to detain the driver and passenger for investigation.
Both occupants failed to comply with police commands.
The male passenger moved to the driver’s seat and rammed a Keene Police cruiser in an attempt to flee.
He then fled on foot into wooded areas along Route 101.
After a brief foot chase, police arrested the male suspect, identified as Anthony Manning, 36, of Brentwood.
The female suspect was identified as Misty Hayes, 47, of Manchester.
Police determined the Toyota Tacoma was stolen.
Manning is being held in preventive detention at Cheshire County House of Corrections pending arraignment July 10 in 8th Circuit Court-Keene.
He faces charges including criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, operating as a habitual offender, resisting arrest, possession of controlled drugs and disobeying an officer.
Manning had outstanding warrants from Concord District Court, Manchester District Court, Rockingham County Superior Court, Hillsborough County Superior Court and Hooksett Police.
Hayes is also being held in preventive detention pending arraignment July 10.
She faces charges including receiving stolen property, operating after suspension and driving without a valid license.
Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
The Cheshire County Sheriff’s Department assisted Keene Police.
