Franklin Square priest arrested on forcible touching charges

FRANKLIN SQUARE — A former priest at St. Catherine of Sienna Church has been arrested on charges of forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree.

John Adjei-Boamah, 43, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was arrested without incident in connection with an incident that occurred March 6 at 5 p.m. at the church rectory.

According to Nassau County police detectives, a female victim was working in the kitchen of the rectory at 33 New Hyde Park Road when Adjei-Boamah walked up behind her and forcibly touched her.

The suspect was known to the victim as he served as a priest at the church and was living at the rectory at the time of the incident, police said.
