AUBURN — A woman was arrested July 4 after allegedly stealing crab legs and other seafood from a Tops supermarket where she had been previously banned.

Auburn Police responded to the store at 352 Genesee St. following a larceny complaint involving a female suspect stealing seafood items.

Officers contacted Rebecca Gould upon arrival and found stolen merchandise in her possession.

Gould had been previously trespassed from the Tops location due to a separate incident, which elevated the larceny charge to burglary under New York law.

She was charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, and petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor.

Gould was transported to Cayuga County Jail, where the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office recommended $20,000 bail due to her criminal history.
