Belmont police investigate shots fired incident on Channing Road

BELMONT — Police are investigating after at least 15 shots were fired near Belmont Center on Monday night, with multiple rounds striking a residence on Channing Road.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Channing Road at approximately 10:57 p.m. July 7, according to Police Chief James MacIsaac.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The Belmont Police Department believes this was an isolated event.

Police are actively investigating the matter in cooperation with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, led by District Attorney Marian Ryan.
