Lewiston man arrested on child exploitation charges

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Police Department executed a search warrant on July 3 in connection with an investigation regarding dissemination of sexually explicit material.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had submitted a cyber-tip to the Maine Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which was eventually assigned to the Lewiston Police Department.

Electronic devices were seized during the warrant execution.

Calvin Shaw was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of sexually explicit material involving a child under 12.

Shaw was transported to Androscoggin County Jail and is being held on $10,000 cash bail.
