LEWISTON — Lewiston police seized three firearms and charged three people in two separate incidents as part of an ongoing effort to reduce gun violence.

On Sunday at approximately 5:20 a.m., police responded to reports of a single gunshot near Pine Street and Webster Street.

Officers observed a confrontation involving several young adults in the roadway upon arrival.

Following an investigation, police recovered two firearms and charged Adein Issak, 19, of Syracuse, New York, and Ali Abdikadir, 18, of Lewiston, both with carrying a concealed weapon.

The individuals appeared to be casually gathered without concern for the obstruction.

He was subsequently charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
