LAKE PLACID — Members of the New York State Police arrested Jonathan M. Sears, age 31, from Lake Placid on July 5.
He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
At approximately 2:06 a.m. on July 5, troopers responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute on Cottonwood Way in North Elba.
Their investigation revealed that Sears was present at the victim’s residence, despite being under a full stay-away order of protection prohibiting him from being there.
During the incident, children were present and witnessed the altercation.
The victim contacted law enforcement, which led to Sears leaving the scene.
Sears was later located, arrested, and transported to the State Police station in Ray Brook for processing.
He was arraigned in the Town of North Elba Court and was subsequently remanded to Essex County Jail.
