WEST BOYLSTON — A 26-year-old Clinton man was arrested Sunday after allegedly carjacking a vehicle at gunpoint from a Dairy Queen drive-through, police said.
Cameron Jack Suarez approached a 55-year-old woman’s vehicle at 328 West Boylston Street at 6:57 p.m. and knocked on her driver’s side window, according to West Boylston police.
When the victim rolled down her window, Suarez told her he had a gun and would shoot her if she didn’t exit the vehicle, police said.
Suarez forcefully removed the woman from her car and threw her to the ground, causing minor injuries, according to the press release.
The suspect then drove off in the victim’s vehicle, police said.
West Boylston Fire Department ambulance personnel evaluated the victim at the scene.
Officers issued a be-on-the-lookout alert for the stolen vehicle.
Suarez was later found operating the stolen car in Worcester and Leicester, police said.
After a pursuit, the vehicle was stopped on Hartwell Road in Oxford, where Suarez was taken into custody.
Suarez is being held at Worcester County House of Correction awaiting arraignment Monday at Clinton District Court.
He faces charges including carjacking, robbery and assault and battery.
Suarez was on probation at the time of the incident, and a probationary arrest warrant was issued for removing an electronic monitoring device previously ordered by the Probation Department, police said.
