JEFFERSONVILLE — A 71-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon on multiple charges including lewd and lascivious conduct at the Varnum Memorial Library.
Miles Hoisington of Jeffersonville was taken into custody at 1:24 p.m. after Vermont State Police received a complaint about a male acting in a lewd and lascivious manner in front of the library at 208 Main St.
State Police located Hoisington a short distance from the library.
Hoisington had previously been issued a notice against trespass for the Varnum Memorial Library property.
Police said Hoisington actively resisted troopers’ attempts to place him under arrest and threatened the troopers’ lives several times.
Hoisington was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct, unlawful trespass, criminal threatening and resisting arrest.
He was lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility for lack of bail.
