Florida man charged in fatal pedestrian crash in Fayston

FAYSTON — A 19-year-old Florida man has been charged with gross negligent operation with death resulting after his vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian Saturday afternoon.

Noah Kirson of Winter Park, Florida, was driving a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser on Mansfield Road near Stark Mountain View Road at approximately 1:19 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and struck 74-year-old Thomas Studley of Fayston.

Studley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kirson sustained no injuries in the crash.

Vermont State Police from the Berlin Barracks responded to the single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

Investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling on Mansfield Road toward Vermont Route 17 when it left the travel portion of the roadway.

Kirson was taken into custody and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

He was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.

Weather conditions were clear and sunny at the time of the crash, and road conditions were clear.
