House fire extinguished on Robinson Street in Silver Creek

SILVER CREEK — Firefighters extinguished a house fire on Robinson Street late Friday night after a caller reported seeing flames from a residence in the area.

The Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department received the call at 11:34 p.m. July 5 for a structure fire at 300020 Robinson Street.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived first and reported heavy fire to dispatch.

Silver Creek Chief C171 and Sunset Bay Chief C193 arrived simultaneously and found heavy fire on the rear of the home.

Engine 171 and Engine 192 arrived within five minutes with full crews, along with mutual aid chiefs and Tower 171.

Crews made an aggressive interior attack and stopped the fire before it spread further through the house.

Forestville Fire Engine 131 responded with a full crew and provided overhaul and salvage operations.

The fire was declared out at 11:53 p.m.

Firefighters rescued two pets from the residence.

Also responding were Silver Creek fire police, Angola, Evans Center Fast, Chautauqua County coordinators and fire police, Air Rescue 71, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office fire investigators and sheriff’s deputies.

No injuries were reported despite warm and humid conditions that affected firefighting operations.
