MONTEBELLO — A 19-year-old driver died after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on Kings Gate Road on July 5.
The Ramapo Police Department responded to the one-vehicle crash at approximately 1 p.m.
Officers found the driver had been ejected from the vehicle and immediately began CPR until Emergency Medical Services arrived.
Both occupants were transported to the hospital.
The driver later died from his injuries.
The passenger is in stable condition and being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Ramapo Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit.
The names of those involved are being withheld pending family notification.
The Tallman Fire Department, Suffern Fire Department, W.P. Faist Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedic Services assisted at the scene.
Kings Gate Road has been reopened.
